FireFighters to Participate in Local Charity Bike Ride for Cancer

Charlotte firefighters and their spouses will be participating in the 24 Hours of Booty fundraising event starting at 7pm on July 30th and running until 7pm on July 31st. 24 Hours of Booty is the official 24 Hour Cycling Event of the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) and supports national and local cancer initiatives. Charlotte, NC recipients include: The Keep Pounding Fund, which honors the late Carolina Panthers player and coach Sam Mills and former player Mark Fields. Proceeds benefit the Blumenthal Center for Cancer Research at Carolina Medical Center.

The Charlotte Fire Department team members are: Engineer Rick Coulson and wife Diane, Captain Chris Bradey and wife Tracy, Captain Josh Decker, Captain Jay Adams, Husband and wife firefighters Joe McBryde and Terri McBryde, and firefighters Dan Holstein and David Unnasch.

24 Hours of Booty, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) non-profit charity headquartered in Charlotte, N.C. This charity provides extraordinary cycling events that are safe, fun, and open to all levels of cycling ability. Their mission is to conduct 24-hour cycling events that increase public awareness, funds, and support for the Lance Armstrong Foundation and local cancer organizations. Since 2002, more than 6,000 riders have raised more than $3.7 million for cancer research and survivorship. In 2009, 24 Hours of Booty events hosted 1,500 riders from 25 different states, and more than 300 volunteers.
