Incident Synopsis
Shortly after 10:00am Monday morning, Charlotte Firefighters were first dispatched to a medical call for service. However, moments later a 2nd call to the fire 911 center reporting an apartment on fire. The firefighters from nearby station # 23 were first to arrive and reported smoke & fire coming from a 2nd floor apartment. The female occupant, 58 y/o Suzette (Judy) Camper was outside the apartment when FF’s arrived. She was quickly treated and transported by Medic to an area hospital for treatment and care. She is expected to make a complete recovery. FF’s advanced hose lines into the burning unit and also cut a ventilation hole in the roof to allow the smoke and fire conditions to escape. The cause was ruled accidental due to smoking materials carelessly discarded in the 2nd floor bedroom

Just before 12 am Wednesday evening Charlotte Firefighters were called to service for reports of a house on fire at 3612 Tuckaseegee Rd. Firefighters from nearby Station 13 were first to arrive and reported heavy smoke & fire coming from this one-story single-family home. Firefighters knocked down the fire in less than 10 minutes, but not before the fire caused approximately $30 - $40,000 in damage. Fire Investigators have determined that this fire was intentionally set and are requesting anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 704.334.1600.
