Ruled accidental and began in a 2nd floor bedroom due to a candle left burning that ignited bedding materials. Fire caused approximately $10K in damages

Incident Synopsis
Just after 4:00 am this morning Charlotte FF’s were called to the Berkshiers on Providence Apartments for a reported fire at 6817 Providence Square Rd. FF’s arrived to find heavy smoke conditions pouring out of this 2-story apartment. It took twenty-seven FF’s approximately twenty minutes to control this blaze which caused an estimated $10K in damages. The cause of blaze has been determined to be a candle burning in the bedroom ignited bedding materials. There were no injuries to report, however the family cat died at this fire. The American Red Cross was called to assist the family of four (4).
