Deemed accidental and electrical in nature; started in the kitchen. Approximately $30 – 35K in fixed property and contents damage

Incident Synopsis
Just after 11:30 am Monday morning FF’s responded to a report of a smoke coming from a home @ 1309 Skyview Road. While enroute to this location FF’s reported that heavy smoke could be scene from several blocks away. Upon their arrival FF’s observed heavy smoke issuing from this home and declared a working fire. It took FF’s just over 30 minutes to control this blaze which caused considerable damage estimated between $30 & $35K. The cause of the blaze has been determined to be electrical in nature and started in the kitchen. A four year old is attributed with notifying his mother of the fire. The Red Cross was requested to assist three adults and one child with securing temporary shelter. There were no injuries to report.
