Incident Synopsis
Shortly before 6 pm this evening CFD Fire Communications received notification from the officer @ Station #28 that his fire truck (Engine 28) was on fire in the station and needed assistance. Fire companies from surrounding CFD stations were immediately dispatched to assist Station 28. Due to the quick actions of Engine 28’s firefighters which included physically pushing this fire engine outside the structure, there was no physical damage incurred by Station #28’s structure. E-28 had been called to service for a fire alarm @ Northlake Mall when the cab of the truck suddenly began to fill up with heavy smoke. The fire appears to have begun in the engine compartment area, but the cause has yet to determined. No dollar estimates for damage were available at the time of this report.

FF’s responded to a report of a house fire in the 5900 blk of Farm Pond Ln shortly before noon today. It took twenty-four FF’s just over twenty minutes to control this blaze which was confined to a bedroom where the fire is believed to have started. The cause of blaze has been determined to be electrical in nature and caused an estimated $10,000 in damages. There were no injuries to report, but the Red Cross was called to assist three displaced adults with temporary housing.
