Incident Synopsis
An alert neighbor called 911 Monday afternoon to report smoke coming from a house on Middleton Dr just off of Providence Rd. When Charlotte FF’s arrived they reported heavy smoke conditions pouring out of this 1-story home and upgraded this incident to a working structure fire. Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the fire that began in the 1st floor living room area which kept the fire damage to a small part of the home. The occupant was away when the fire broke out and no injuries were reported. She was able to stay with family members nearby. Charlotte Fire Investigators were called in and were able to rule the cause as accidental due to a candle that was left burning unattended.
